Coursework: The Concepts Put Forth by Relativism (Coursework Sample) Content: RelativismNameInstitutional AffiliationRelativism is a concept that puts forth a notion that it is not possible to judge whether a certain point of view is correct of truthful (Feldman, 2013). The reason is that the contents of that point of view will have often been influenced by certain circumstances and perceptions towards certain phenomena. For example, there is moral relativism that states that certain points of views regarding morals and moral standings may be influenced by the environment that a person is in, their culture and so on. In that case then, relativism stands for the fact that there can be more than one truth for a certain phenomenon, even though these two may contracts each other greatly.The concepts put forth by relativism may be both correctly and wrong, depending of the phenomenon that is being discussed. A good example of when relativism may be correct is in the case of murder sentences for capital offenders. Some are in support of it because th e Bible states that what a person gives is what they will receive and that the wages of sin is death.
